God's Rest

Together In Christ                                                                             Holy Prayer House

God's Rest

When your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work. For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.  ’So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ Psalm 95:9-11

There is a “Rest” from the Lord. Leaning upon the bosom of the Lord like a child, at any time and for everything.

The days, we live are filled with stress, strain and anxieties. We feel restless over things happening in our lives, start murmuring, and feel depressed or unhappy. We say that we are broken and we break people around us with our actions and speech.

Is this the life the Lord has promised us? Definitely not. Lord wants us to be in  perfect peace all the time; that is God’s rest. Even true practicing Christians are missing out on this great blessing in their lives.

Let us take the example of Israelites; they praised God, when every marvelous thing happened around. And started murmuring, when they passed through tough times. The bible says that Lord was not pleased with them, because they have not trusted Him. It is a lesson for us too. Trust the Lord with all your heart and pour out your heart to him, then the peace unspeakable will fill your hearts and fill your minds.

Words to remember: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3
“Be anxious for nothing but in everything  by prayer and supplication with thanks giving , let your requests be made known to God ; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding  will guard your hearts and minds  through Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6 ,7

Whatever may be the situation, we are going through, always remember God is in control. We will not be able to do anything with our own strength. If you are walking through a crooked path, don't complain, but just trust the Lord, who can make every crooked path straight.

My Friend, Are you enjoying the “Rest” from the Lord; at all the times.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Mathew 11:28.
